Welcome to Old Dogs Rock — where a love for dogs (especially the old) meets music, nostalgia and laughter
OUR STORY
About
Old Dogs Rock was born from two great loves—music and dogs—and from two great souls: Scott and Rocky. Scott, my husband, passed away in February 2024 from melanoma cancer, and just weeks later, our dog Rocky passed from canine cognitive dysfunction. They were my world—my loudest laugh and my softest comfort—and their absence is felt every day. But this isn’t a story about loss. It’s about legacy. This platform is a tribute to their energy, humor, passion for life, and their absolute joy in music and mischief. Every design, every playlist, and every wagging tail on this site carries their spirit forward.

Rocky of Old Dogs Rock
Rocky was a little Yorkie with the heart of a lion and the delusion of a Labrador. He strutted like he owned the block, learned how to fetch, and somehow taught us everything about joy without ever saying a word. Playtime was sacred, silliness was constant, and love was expressed in the simplest ways—side eyes, tail wags, and bedtime snuggles. Rocky reminded us daily that it’s okay to pause and play, to bark when needed, and to love with abandon. He’s not just the inspiration for our name—he’s the heartbeat of this brand.
SCOTT and ME
Scott was a true Gen X original—sarcastic, brilliant, passionate, and always finding humor in the unexpected. He could go from blasting thrash metal to vibing with a classical concerto without missing a beat. He made life bigger, louder, and funnier. We met when we were 15 years old in Alaska, under aurora skies that now show up in many of my designs. He used to worry he wasn’t leaving a legacy. But he did. It’s here. It lives in every design, every parody-infused tee, every snarky caption, and every old dog we celebrate. This platform is a love letter to his incredible taste in music, his wild sense of humor, and his enormous heart. Thank you for reading our story—not for sympathy, but to honor two lives that rocked ours.
As for me, I’m the designer behind Old Dogs Rock. I’m a proud Gen X'er who grew up in Alaska and papered her room with band posters. I live for unexpected musical collaborations, the nostalgia of the 80s, and the love of dogs. Through this space, I hope to share designs, sprinkle in helpful info when it matters (like about canine cognitive dysfunction), and keep the music—and memories—going.
