There is so much music out in the world right now that we honestly don’t even know where to begin.
And that’s a beautiful problem to have.
At Old Dogs Rock, we aren’t music reviewers. We simply honor music. We love on dogs—especially the seniors. And we celebrate the artists who put their heart, time and energy into what we hear every single day. We’ll continue saying this because we truly mean it.
We love all genres of music and celebrate artists of every style brave enough to share their art with the world. Legacy musicians. Bands from the 80s we still blast in the car. Artists putting out brand new music decades into their careers. Artists gone but never forgotten. Ambient music. Yacht rock. Heavy metal. Folk. Country. Dance music. Soulful slow jams. Vinyl-worthy albums. Songs written for animated films. Party anthem songs.
Music matters here.
So here is just a little of the new music that we’ve been listening to from May 1st through June 5th, 2026. In random order...
💿Tesla – Homage (Album Coming July 17)
Legendary rock band Tesla is releasing an album called Homage, featuring covers honoring artists including Sam Cooke, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elvis Presley, Climax Blues Band and soooo many more. We are absolutely loving the song “I Love You,” originally by Climax Blues Band. This one honestly feels like it could become somebody’s wedding song. Soft, heartfelt and timeless.
💿Willie Nelson – Dream Chaser Album
At 93 years old, Willie Nelson is still living his passion, still writing music and still inspiring generations. That alone deserves celebrating.
His album Dream Chaser released May 29th, and our favorite tracks are “Dream Chaser” and “Whiskey Wants Me To.” There’s something comforting about hearing artists continue doing what they love deep into life. Old Dogs Rock will always honor that spirit.
💿Tycho – “Horizon” Song
Tycho released “Horizon” on May 7th and it feels like sunrise in musical form.
Ambient and instrumental, this track has that feeling of the world waking up slowly while reminding you maybe it’s time to wake up with it too.
Perfect coffee-on-the-porch music.
💿A Perfect Circle – “Starless” Song
A Perfect Circle returned with “Starless” on May 27th.
Formed by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan alongside Josh Freese and Matt McJunkins, the band continues bringing that emotional, atmospheric sound longtime fans love.
💿Aldo Nova –The Life and Times of Eddie Gage Album
Aldo Nova released a concept-style album telling the story of a musician rising to fame while facing adversity along the way.
Favorites for us include:

This album feels theatrical, emotional and deeply personal.
💿Death Cab for Cutie – I Built You a Tower Album
Death Cab for Cutie released I Built You a Tower on June 5th.
We especially love:

Beautifully layered like classic Death Cab.
💿Alela Diane – Who’s Keeping Time? Album
Alela Diane released her folk/Americana album Who’s Keeping Time? on May 22nd and we truly love it front to back. Our artwork attached to this blog was inspired by her song “Fragile as a Flame.” This may be one of our favorite full-album listens lately, alongside albums from The Black Keys and The All-American Rejects.

💿Muse – The Wow! Signal (Album Coming June 26)
Muse has a new album on the way titled The Wow! Signal.

And honestly? We laughed hard at the song “Nightshift Superstar.” This needs to be in a comedy movie for sure. Also… it has almost been 20 years since they released the song “Supermassive Black Hole,” and we still love it.
💿Keith Urban – Flow State (Album Coming June 12)
Keith Urban is diving into yacht rock territory with Flow State.

💿Maroon 5 – “Heroine” Song
Maroon 5 released “Heroine” on May 1st and we’ve had this one on repeat.
💿Joyce Wrice – “Crack the Code” Song
Joyce Wrice released “Crack the Code” on May 1st and it deserves some late-night headphone listening. It's Soulful. Smooth. Sexy.
💿Boards of Canada – Inferno Album
Boards of Canada released their ambient/electronic album Inferno on May 29th.
This is perfect “flow state” music.

💿Madonna – Confessions II (Album Coming July 3)
The icon Madonna is back with Confessions II.
We love “I Feel So Free.” Danceable, confident and sexy in that unmistakable Madonna way.
💿Elles Bailey – “Best Believe” Song
Elles Bailey released “Best Believe” on May 8th.
Her lyric “You best believe you’re beautiful.”
That’s honestly how we feel about all the beautifully unique people in this world. Love it!
💿Madison Beer – Locket Deluxe Album
Madison Beer released Locket Deluxe on May 8th.
We especially love:

💿Evanescence – Sanctuary Album
Evanescence released Sanctuary on June 5th.

💿Paul McCartney – The Boys of Dungeon Lane Album
The legend himself, Paul McCartney, released The Boys of Dungeon Lane on May 29th. The album blends reflective storytelling, classic melodic songwriting and the warm musicianship that has made McCartney one of the most celebrated artists in music history.
We love the song “We Two.”
💿Barry Manilow – What a Time Album
Another legend from another genre.
Barry Manilow released What a Time on June 5th and his song “Sunshine” truly feels exactly like its title. Pure happy sunshine.
💿Peter Gabriel – Bright Side & Dark Side Releases
Peter Gabriel continues releasing songs with every full moon and alternate versions on the new moon.
The Bright Side mixes are done by Mark “Spike” Stent while the Dark Side mixes are handled by Chad Blake.
His latest release is the Bright Side mix of “A Hard Lesson,” released May 31st for his companion album o/i tied to 2023’s i/o. We honestly love this concept and his continue creativity.
💿Ariana Grande – “Hate That I Made You Love Me” Song
Ariana Grande released this emotional new track on May 29th. The a cappella version is equally as impressive as the original to us.
💿The Black Crowes & Whiskey Myers–“Star Star” Song
The Black Crowes and Whiskey Myers teamed up for a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Star Star.” The collaboration dropped May 18th ahead of touring together and gives fans a fun taste of both bands together.
💿Peter Frampton – Carry the Light Album
Peter Frampton released his album, Carry the Light on May 15th.
The title track “Carry the Light” is our standout favorite on this one.
💿Dogstar – All In Now Album
Dogstar released All In Now on May 29th.
Keanu Reeves plays bass in this band and they are currently touring.
Our favorite is the title track “All In Now.”
💿Stryper – “I’m Alright (I’m Okay)” Song
Stryper released this track May 28th and it absolutely brings back that classic 80s metal energy while mixing in a little modern production.
💿Martin Garrix & Ed Sheeran – “Repeat It” Song
Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran finally released “Repeat It” on May 15th.
The song was reportedly recorded back in 2014 but delayed for years due to label conflicts.
Sometimes music finally finds its moment.
💿The Black Keys – Peaches! Album
The Black Keys released Peaches! on May 1st and we truly love this album top to bottom.
We immediately bought this one for our vinyl collection. Last years "No Rain, No Flowers" album is still a favorite here. They are on fire.

💿Tasha – You Are Spring (Album Coming June 26)
Tasha pre-released songs from her upcoming album You Are Spring.
“Summer” and “Spring” are absolutely perfect relaxing songs for this time of year.

💿aespa – “Lemonade” Song
If you enjoy K-pop—or are simply curious about it—aespa released “Lemonade” on May 29th.
💿Cassidy Daniels – “Heart Shaped Necklace” Song
We are LOVING this one.
Cassidy Daniels released “Heart Shaped Necklace” on May 15th and it instantly caught our attention.
💿The All-American Rejects – Sandbox Album
The All-American Rejects released Sandbox on May 15th and we cannot wait for the vinyl release.

Anthrax released this new song May 15th.

💿Kenny Chesney – “Carry On” Song
Kenny Chesney released “Carry On,” bringing his familiar island-style vibe with him.
💿Iceage – For Love of Grace & the Hereafter Album
Post-punk band Iceage from Copenhagen released their sixth studio album on May 29th.
We especially love the song “Ember.”
Raw, emotional and atmospheric.
💿Kurupt & Snoop Dogg – “Survival” Song
Kurupt and Snoop Dogg released “Survival” on May 13th.
💿Sublime –Until the Sun Explodes (Album Coming June 12)
Sublime has a new album coming and it carries that classic sound longtime fans love.

💿Shakira & Burna Boy – “Dai Dai” Song
Shakira and Burna Boy teamed up for “Dai Dai” on May 14th.
💿Shinedown – Ei8ht Album
Shinedown released Ei8ht on May 29th. Perfectly titled for their 8th studio album.
Our favorite? The song “Searchlight.”
💿Nina Simone & Mochakk – “See Line Woman” Song
Legendary Nina Simone meets Brazilian producer Mochakk in this remix of Simone’s 1964 song “See Line Woman.” Old music meeting new energy is something we will always celebrate. Go check this one out!
💿Modest Mouse – An Eraser and a Maze Album
Modest Mouse released An Eraser and a Maze on June 5th.
We are especially loving:

“Third Side of the Moon”
There’s something quirky, emotional and beautifully strange about Modest Mouse that still feels completely their own after all these years.
💿Pitbull & Lil Jon – “Satalanaaa” Song
Pitbull and Lil Jon released “Satalanaaa” on June 5th and this one instantly had us singing along. This feels like one of those loud, carefree party songs meant for summer nights, dancing badly in the kitchen and just having fun.
💿Shaboozey – “Cowgirl” Song
Shaboozey released “Cowgirl” on June 5th as a pre-release for his upcoming album The Outlaw Cherie Lee and Other Western Tales arriving July 31st. The perfect country, dance song. Even the trailer for this album feels cinematic, with Jamie Foxx narrating it. Definitely worth checking out on YouTube.
💿Alesso & OneRepublic – “In Your Eyes” Song
Alesso and OneRepublic teamed up for “In Your Eyes” on June 5th.
This appears to be a stand-alone collaboration and we are absolutely loving the lyric:
“In your eyes, I’m always coming home.”
There’s something uplifting and emotional about this one.
💿Lee “Scratch” Perry & Mouse on Mars – Spatial No Problem Album
Legendary Jamaican producer, songwriter and dub pioneer Lee Scratch Perry released his final official album project on June 5th alongside German experimental electronic duo Mouse on Mars.
Scratch, who passed away in 2021 at age 85, helped invent dub music in the 1970s and worked closely with Bob Marley. Artists ranging from The Clash to Beastie Boys have cited him as an influence.
Mouse on Mars, known for blending experimental electronic music and avant-garde sound design into unpredictable sonic landscapes, makes for a fascinating collaborative partner here.

💿Joji & The Kid LAROI – “Bluffin” Song
Joji and The Kid LAROI released the stand-alone collaboration “Bluffin” on June 3rd.
Moody, melodic and emotional in a way both artists do well.
💿Kiefer Sutherland – Grey Album
Kiefer Sutherland released Grey on May 29th.
Our favorite songs on the album are “Down Below” and “Rage in Me.” Both feel cinematic to us, which fits him and his artistic life perfectly. There’s a rugged, reflective storytelling style throughout this album that feels honest, weathered and deeply personal.
💿Lizzo – bitch Album
Lizzo released her album bitch on June 5th.
We are loving:
“Happy 2 Be”
“Good Morning”
Honestly, “Good Morning” feels like it should become our new alarm ringtone because it makes us laugh every single time. Go listen.
💿Taylor Swift – “I Knew It, I Knew You” Song
Taylor Swift released “I Knew It, I Knew You” on June 5th for Toy Story 5.
This song takes us back to the early pop-country roots that so many longtime fans first fell in love with. The song is warm, nostalgic and heartfelt. Perfect for The Toy Story 5 movie it's made for.
💿Pink Floyd – 8 Tracks
Legendary progressive rock band Pink Floyd released 8 Tracks on June 5th.
The project features continuous-flow mixes by Steven Wilson, known for remixing and restoring albums for bands including King Crimson, Yes, Jethro Tull and Tears for Fears.
One especially exciting inclusion is “Pigs on the Wall,” originally available only on the obscure 1977 Animals 8-track release and now finally presented here in extended full-length form. This release feels like a love letter to longtime Floyd fans and vintage audio culture.
💿Tom Morello, Serj Tankian & Roman Morello – “Adjourn It”
Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave joined forces with Serj Tankian of System of a Down and Tom’s 15-year-old son Roman Morello for the song “Adjourn It.”
Heavy, intense and filled with generational collaboration, this track blends veteran musicianship with fresh young energy.
💿Lainey Wilson & John Mayer – “Phone, Keys, Wallet”
Lainey Wilson and John Mayer released “Phone, Keys, Wallet” on June 4th.
We honestly were not expecting this collaboration at all, but we absolutely love both the pairing and the song itself.
💿The Rolling Stones – Upcoming Album (July 10)
The legendary The Rolling Stones will be releasing a new album July 10th and have already shared two songs ahead of the release:
“Rough and Twisted”
“In the Stars”
We are excited to hear the rest of this album because both songs already sound fantastic.
Even decades later, these legends continue creating and evolving.
